"Well, if you're looking for a chance to earn that cookie..." Everytime she heard the word 'cookie', Whimsicott bristled with jealousy. As they approached Ollie and his Pikachu, she drifted in front of her trainer, spinning round until she was staring at him upside-down.[break][break]

For his part, Alba just gave his partner a faux-innocent smile.[break][break]

[break][break] First things first. Greetings were important. The Head Ranger offered his hand out for the other to shake, glancing in admiration at the cute Whimsicott that floated about, before he let out a laugh.

[break][break] "Well, I'll buy you one too if you win!"

[break][break] Tofu didn't seem to like that. He pouted. But there was no time to dwell, because sure enough, they were being ushered to opposite sides of the field for the battle to begun.

[break][break] Invigorated by the idea of competition, the Pikachu leaped forward with a DISCHARGE.

For her part, the fairy whipped around at the promise of a cookie — it was more like she scrambled mid-air, but close enough — hunger and joy dancing in her eyes at she stared up at her opposing trainer.[break][break]

"You sure you should have said that? Now she'll really want to win."[break][break]

As they make their way to their opposite ends of the arena, the scientist pulls out his Tera Orb, engulfing his Whimsicott in crystal before she emerges a Poison-type.[break][break]

"Now... Tera Blast!" A burst of Terastal energy comes careening for the Pikachu; a direct challenge to his Discharge.

[break][break] "What's the point in winning when there are no stakes?"

[break][break] Ollie let out a carefree laugh as he watched the Whimsicott twirl cutely in the air, eager now that there was a prize in place. Sure enough, the announcer has them step to opposing sides of the arena and Tofu leaps off his shoulder to join his opponent in the center.

[break][break] The battle starts off swiftly — a TERA BLAST that explodes against an incoming DISCHARGE attack. Sparks go flying as the two attacks collide, smoke billowing in the air between them as someone in the crowd hollers a "WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!"

[break][break] "Get in quick!"

[break][break] Tofu doesn't need the reminder. He leaps upwards into the air and charges an ELECTRO BALL that he sends slamming towards the Whimsicott.

Fight On

The Discharge manages to win out; when the smoke clears, there's static licking at Whimsicott in the aftermath. She's clearly taken some damage from the attack, but it hasn't done much to dim her bright expression.[break][break]

"Alright, how about a Giga Drain next?" At the sound of her trainer's voice, Grass energy forms at Whimsicott's mouth. She tries to dodge out of the way of the Electro Ball, kicking off the air as she launches her attack on Tofu.

[attr="class","textbody"] Ollie can commend the other's determination. Usually by this point in the battle, people's excitements were wavering. Not this Whimsicott though.

[break][break] GIGA DRAIN latches onto the Pikachu, sucking away at his life force, and the Pikachu grimaced with pain.

[break][break] "Get away, Tofu!"

[break][break] But the Pikachu can't quite move yet, not with the pain swelling around him the way that it is. He has no choice but to let out a crackling DISCHARGE attack, bolts of electricity lancing up the connection that binds them both.

They're on the backfoot. The direct hits start to take their toll on the Windveiled Pokémon, but she still has some fight in her... She wants that cookie, after all.[break][break]

"Leech Seed, quickly!" Trying to break the Giga Drain link before the Discharge hits, Whimsicott shakes — almost vibrates — letting loose a barrage of seeds that try and root themselves into Tofu.
